Recording
classes
Trade schools offering degrees in the
recording arts can be great for learning how to use professional
recording studio gear, but what good is that if you don’t understand
your canvas?
SOUND is the canvas you work on as a recording
engineer, whether it is as music, voice, or any other form. Still
these schools almost never teach their students the Fundamentals of
SOUND.
At Stage One we focus our classes on teaching
the entire recording process, beginning with a full understanding of
the art. If you are interested in the recording arts, whether it be
for professional or home studio purposes, come learn the trade from
the educated professionals who have dedicated their lives to and
actually make their livings in the recording industry.
We currently offer a unique introductory class
that is truly one of a kind, focusing on the much needed
fundamentals that most those trade schools do not offer: SOUND
CHARACTERISTICS, AUDIO EQUIPMENT HISTORY, MICROPHONES, SOUND
MEASUREMENT, RECORDING MEDIUMS, SIGNAL ROUTING, the RECORDING CHAIN
and the CHANNEL STRIP.
The instructor for this class
is Kirk Fyvie, an industry professional who has worked on
gold and platinum albums. For more information on Kirk, click
